Privacy
There's nothing here about you.
Not because we're careful with it. Because we never had it.
What we don't have
- We don't have an account for you
- There isn't one. No email, no phone number, no password. Nothing to breach, and nothing to leak.
- We never see your photos, videos or messages
- What you post is locked for the friends you chose before it leaves your phone. We don't have the key.
- We collect nothing
- There's no analytics in this app. No tracking, no advertising identifiers, no third parties measuring what you do.
- Your friends list stays on your phone
- We don't have a copy. We don't know who your friends are, how many you have, or that you added one.
- If we were asked to hand over your content
- The only thing we could produce is something no one can read. Not us. Not whoever asked.
What we do hold
To wake a sleeping phone so a post can arrive, we keep a notification token for your device. It isn't attached to a name, an email or an account, because there aren't any. And it tells us nothing about what was sent, or who sent it.
And one outbound call: searching for a GIF in a chat sends your search text and your IP address to GIPHY, and nothing else. The GIF you pick is downloaded here and delivered to your friend as bytes, so their phone never contacts anyone. No search history is kept. If you never open the GIF picker, Ping never makes the call.
And this website, unlike the app, counts its visitors — we use Google Analytics to see which pages people read. Advertising signals are switched off permanently, no analytics cookie is set in the UK or EU without consent, and none of it touches the app or knows anything about it. The privacy policy sets out exactly what it sees.
We'd rather say all three plainly than round them down to zero.
